Born on a beautiful spring day the same year Metallica released Master of Puppets, Hilary Pollack is a writer and editor.
She
has written hundreds (and edited thousands) of stories about culture, food, design, travel, and the internet. She has reviewed the terrible martinis at Trump Tower, explored the nostalgic resonance of shoegaze, and interviewed countless chefs, musicians, founders, and other fascinating people.
She is currently deputy editor at Eater. Previously, she was editorial director of VICE's shopping vertical and deputy culture editor at VICE.com. She has also written for GQ, The Washington Post, Pitchfork, and other publications of note.
Hilary holds a B.A. in Art Practice from the University of California, Berkeley. She is a painter and occasionally exhibits her work. Her photography has also appeared in SPIN, Seventeen, STATE, and Land.
Now based in Los Angeles, she enjoys live music with heavy synthesizers, unique hotel lobbies, wearing some form of animal print almost every day, and driving long distances to eat at hole-in-the-wall restaurants.
